Send us a text

As election season stirs up hopes and uncertainties, today’s Tuesday Thoughts episode invites you to consider where we place our trust and hope. While many look to leaders or policies for stability, we’re reminded that our unshakable hope lies beyond politics—in Jesus. He offers a peace that surpasses circumstances, giving us a firm foundation. As you tune in, reflect on the words of Psalm 62:5-6: ‘Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.’ This episode offers encouragement to anchor your hope in the One who remains constant, no matter the season.

Speaker 1:

Today I want to talk about something that's been on my heart hope. I recently heard someone say that a certain political candidate is their only hope. It struck me because it made me think about where we place our hope, especially in times like these, and I totally get it. When the world feels unstable, it's natural to look for someone or something we think can fix things. We all want to feel secure and sometimes we start placing our hope in people, leaders or situations, believing they'll be the answer to our problems. But there's a big limitation here. People, no matter how well intentioned, can't fully satisfy that need for true, lasting hope. Circumstances change, people fall short and the world around us is constantly shifting. That's why I wanted to share about a different kind of hope the hope we have in Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Unlike human leaders or changing circumstances, jesus offers a hope that's unshakable. His promises go beyond political outcomes or worldly success. He's the same yesterday, today and forever. He's with us in every season, offering us peace that doesn't depend on what's happening around us. So what does this kind of hope look like in our daily lives? Well, it's about leaning into his promises. When we feel anxious about the future, we can turn to him in prayer and in scripture to remind ourselves of his faithfulness. Staying connected with a community of believers can also be huge, huge, huge, huge, and keep us grounded, reminding us that we're not alone and that we share in this hope together.

Speaker 1:

If you're feeling discouraged by the times we're in or by the headlines that flood our news feeds, let me encourage you to remember that your hope doesn't have to rely on any single person, policy or outcome. Jesus offers us a hope that's steadfast, a hope that we can hold on to no matter what. So today, let's take a moment to breathe, to refocus and to remember that our hope is secure in him. Thanks for joining me for this Tuesday Thoughts. As we go about this week, I pray we all find ways to anchor ourselves in Jesus' hope and peace and remember our hope is in Him and it is unshakable, no matter what the world brings. And, as a quick PS, go out and vote. If you hear this by the end of today, it is voting day in the USA and I encourage you to take a stand for biblical values. One choice will carry more weight than the other and I'll let you decide who that is. Have a blessed day and remember you are deeply loved and never alone.
